Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December sees the month-straddling weekend that is The Staffordshire Contemporary Art & Design Fair. I’ll be returning gladly to it, at Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek.
In the recent past… Back at The Belper Print Fair! Catch new work from INKY CONDITIONS at the 3rd Annual Print Fair at No.28, Market Place, Belper. I’ll be alongside a wealth of printy talent from around these parts. Selling calendars and cards too, besides large framed prints and a whole range of inky hullabaloo.
All done! (and very nicely too!) September’s Wirksworth Festival Arts Trail sees INKY CONDITIONS at The Institute Building on North End. This is always such an exciting and much-loved event for so many. I’ll be selling new, framed works and pieces from ‘the catalogue’ – along with a few inky surprises! Gladly back at No.28 Market Place, INKY CONDITIONS returns to the Belper Arts Trail for a sixth year. Showcasing and selling a large selection of new, first-time prints of artworks made over recent months. Plus, an opportunity for visitors to get hold of the limited-run, signed and numbered A3 posters, made specially for this year’s trail! Proud and privileged to have worked with the wonderfully talented writer, Wayne Connolly, creating the cover illustration and design of his first collection of stories. Published on January 19th 2023 by Pontburn Press, the book is available to order here – with donations from each sale to blood cancer charities, Bright Red and Blood Cancer UK.

Two original ink-on-paper artworks are featured in the OPEN 22 exhibition, running from May 28th to June 19th. ‘This is the Bench’ and ‘River Walk with Dad’ are shown along with works from over 30 selected artists. Cover Art Collaborations – Two New Releases in May
INKY CONDITIONS-created artworks for the new single release by Matt McGuinness and the MLC, from their mental-health-awareness supporting ‘We Are What We Overcome’ programme – details via here. The Hungry Ghost Magazine, Issue #2, Winter 2021
An all-new set of five INKY CONDITIONS illustrations are included in the sumptuous second issue of The Hungry Ghost Magazine. “AS MUCH HEART AS A VENDING MACHINE”, features work on the theme of BAD OBJECTS from 35 fantastic contributors. INKY CONDITIONS at The Laburnum Inn, Matlock, Derbyshire
From May 23rd 2021 – Wallspace Takeover. The first in a proposed series of showcases of local artists features 20 pieces by INKY CONDITIONS. A mix of ‘old favourites’ alongside newer and brand-new first-time-out artworks. This includes the first exhibition of Chair Paintings, gathered in the right-hand room of The Laburnum Inn. Selected as one of 66 artists exhibiting in this year’s (online only) Annual Open, INKY CONDITIONS presented two recent print works.
August 2020: Belper Online Arts Trail – ‘THESE ARE THE TREES’, by INKY CONDITIONS
For this year’s Belper, Derbyshire online trail, the traditionally abundant output of black and white works from INKY CONDITIONS is set aside to showcase for sale a new, one-off, large-format print series titled These Are The Trees. Made up of 10 new pieces created during lockdown, These Are The Trees is a specially curated collection of bold-brushed and lyric-led artworks. Vivid colours replace the monochromatic. Asserted statements drown out the mumbled asides. A sense of scale is exploded; newly and differently embraced communities and amplified inner voices loom large in the shrinking world of lockdown – and of loss. These Are The Trees is a (very) limited poster-print edition; just one of each artwork has been bespoke-produced for this online trail. (Postcard editions pictured below.)
